Individual Therapy

In my practice, I address a wide range of needs and work with clients of all ages. I offer a personalized approach to therapy tailored to each clients individual needs. Together we can create insight into the events and transitions that have contributed to current life experiences, creating real and lasting change for the future.

My approach ranges from unstructured therapy addressing issues that come up in the moment to cognitive behavioral therapy tailored to a specific issue.

Family Therapy

Work with the entire family unit is central to my practice, and helping families accept and understand the family dynamic is an important part of the process. When one member of the family struggles, it impacts the entire family unit and the therapeutic work we do together can help restore balance to the family dynamic. Early intervention with children and active family involvement can lead to positive emotional shifts and more effective communication for the entire family. As part of my work with children and adolescents, I meet with parents frequently and collaborate with teachers and other supporting professionals regularly.

Children

Children can become overwhelmed by big emotions. As a parent, this can cause a sense of helplessness when you are not sure how to help your child reach their potential. I believe that a child’s behavior is a form of communication. Each child has a unique set of needs, our goal is to identify areas of concern and build upon their inherent strengths to process difficult emotions and develop effective coping skills.

Choosing to start therapy for your child can be one of the most powerful decisions you make as a parent. After our initial assessment, we will work together to develop a treatment plan that works for you and your family. In our work together, treatment modalities may include play therapy, unstructured discussion, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Adolescents

Adolescence is an especially confusing time and a period of change within the parent-child dynamic. Many adolescents struggle to cope with physical, emotional and social changes while attempting to establish a sense of self and greater independence. In our work together, we will establish an understanding of the impact of our thoughts on feelings and behaviors to create a greater sense of self efficacy over our emotions and a sense of acceptance for life events. We will work together to promote a positive sense of self identity and establish coping techniques to respond to daily challenges.

Adults

Balancing all of our responsibilities can feel overwhelming. Accepting our life circumstances can be challenging. We will work together to create a greater sense of control over the things we can change such as our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In doing so, this will lead to a sense of empowerment, acceptance of our life circumstances, and overall increased sense of happiness.
